AI in the workplace is becoming a common occurrence and programs like ChatGPT will change the game going forward. Here are some thoughts from Kirkham IronTech’s founder, Tom Kirkham:
“First of all, what most people are not imagining is how AI is going to change the cybersecurity landscape. AI is similar to chat GPT and is already being tested out to conduct fully automated, targeted phishing attacks and polymorphic malware. And that’s just scratching the surface of what AI allows criminal hackers to do. Not only that the way in the method that they’re attacking, but the scariest part is, now they can automate it,” says Tom.
“As a security company, we’ve been targeted for years. But now with AI, it can just scrape the web, understand organizational chart hierarchies, and tailor automated attacks to everybody, regardless of size. That’s, that’s the scariest thing about AI. And it’s happening right now, we’re just beginning to see the beginnings of it.”
“But it won’t be limited to solely online attacks, the data available and processed could easily allow cybercriminals to commit large-scale crimes en masse. For example, AI could simply be used to go through public Facebook posts and find everybody that’s out of town within an area, generate a list and criminals can use that. It is easy enough for AI to find everybody who’s out of town in New York, Manhattan. There’s a list of 10,000 apartments to rob. As always, but not more than ever before privacy is safety,” adds Tom.
“From a marketing and operational standpoint, most companies have silos of data with their CRM apps and other business apps without that single unifying pane of glass that surfaces data across channels. AI has the capability to not only make everything visible on one screen, one window but also to analyze it, understand the context, and draw out the story behind the data. Otherwise, without AI it takes a specialized trained human hours of research and years of experience to accurately extrapolate conclusions from a large dataset.”
“AI has the capability to take support tickets, link them to a knowledge base, and rapidly apply it to the procedures in place for client experience duties. AI can allow companies to see data across data silos and intelligently arrange it to make it useful for different roles inside the company. We’re pretty excited about that part of it,” says Tom.
Will AI in the Workplace Change Our Lives?
The ways that AI is going to impact our lives are still being discovered. It’s early days. Artificial intelligence is a seminal event in human history. Just like the invention of the internet and the invention of the personal computer. Technology is increasing, the seminal events are happening more frequently. At the very beginning of the internet, nobody really fully understood the impact of those events when they occurred and how far-reaching, and how much they would affect society. In the near future, AI is already speeding up deep analysis of any data in private companies, discovering trends within customer data, customer experience, finance operations and more. Organizations are set to rapidly evolve with the use of AI in the workplace.
The tools, techniques, policies, and procedures, that are best practices, international standards are the right things to do to properly secure your organization. Those are going to be effective, whether it was an artificial intelligence-generated attack or it’s a traditional type of attack. The problem is that humans are the biggest threat in any organization. They’re responsible for 95% of breaches. And the nature of these con jobs is that social engineering is going to change because these AI-generated emails or whatever it may be, has the ability to make it more likely that The possible victim will click on a malicious link, or open a malicious file. That’s the big problem is that AI is going to fool more and more humans into infecting their corporate networks their home computers for that matter.
How Will We integrate ChatGPT and AI in the Workplace?

What Types of Workplaces/Tasks Will Benefit from this Technology and Which Will Be Less Affected?

What Challenges Come with Using AI?
“One major concern that most people are not imagining is how it’s going to change the cybersecurity landscape. AI similar to ChatGPT is already being tested out to conduct fully automated, targeted phishing attacks. And that’s just scratching the surface of what AI allows criminal hackers to do. The scariest part is they can do everything that was already working, but smarter — and now they can automate it,” says Tom.
